Engineering and Design Expertise
The engineers at VRT use advanced software to optimize costs and losses. The software permits the verification of all calculations for mechanical and electrical stresses, such as short circuits, lightning and switching impulses, over-voltage, hot spots (magnetic field distribution in winding and metal parts), electrical field calculations and plots, noise levels, overload capacity and loss of insulation life. Modern CAD workstations using Medusa and PRO-E software, which is based on parametric programs developed by VRT help engineers to translate electrical designs into detailed transformer blueprints. We possess advanced expertise in “Low noise” transformer technology. VRT seeks to differentiate its products and gain competitive advantage by engineering transformers of the highest possible quality. The transformers are engineered to operate at low noise levels.
Due to special design and production characteristics, noise levels of at least 10 dB below ANSI standard are achieved in all transformers larger than 50 MVA, and levels of 46 to 50 dB (ground noise intensity) can be achieved for transformers up to 50 MVA.
